Acquisition

We draw on our many years of experience, passion, expertise, and international network to ensure that your valuable objects find their way into collections where they receive the appreciation and admiration they deserve.

As collectors and specialists in Art Nouveau and Art Deco, we understand the significance a carefully assembled collection can hold. Every object has a story to tell, while behind a collection often lies a lifetime of searching, discovering and collecting. We believe that exceptional objects deserve to be appreciated for their quality and history and, ultimately, to find their way into suitable collections, ensuring that this cultural heritage is preserved for future generations.

The objects we select for Gallery Suma’s ever-changing collection are carefully assessed for authenticity, quality and condition. We acquire our objects through international art and antiques fairs, auctions and the direct acquisition of private collections.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of acquiring several private collections that were assembled with great care, knowledge and passion over the course of many decades. We understand that the decision to part with such a collection is not always an easy one. Sometimes age plays a role, sometimes collecting interests change, or there may be a desire to find a suitable new home for a collection when the next generation does not share the same passion.

In such circumstances, we are pleased to take care of the entire acquisition process. We treat every collection with respect for the collector, the history of the objects and the dedication with which the collection was assembled.

Are you considering selling a single exceptional object, part of your collection or your entire collection? We warmly invite you to contact us without obligation. We would be pleased to consider your objects and, when they are a suitable addition to our collection, make you an appropriate offer.

You can rely on a personal and discreet approach, clear arrangements and prompt payment. When selling directly to Gallery Suma, there are no seller’s commissions or other auction-related fees.

We would be delighted to meet you personally and learn more about your collection.
